INFORMATION AND PROCEDURES
If pool is subject to county health department inspection, a recent survey must be obtained before a final bid will be provided for the pool renovation.
Costs for any necessary permits will be assessed to the pool owner. Any special requirements (such as site plans, etc.) must be provided by the pool owner to our office prior to renovation commencement.
Pool water will be pumped out using a gas powered pump. If needed, we will also utilize a diaphragm pump with your ground water drainage system. This will equalize the pressure beneath the pool created by ground water.
If we install new waterline tile, we will not undercut this tile, but will chip out all floor returns, light niches or other stationary fixtures.
6x6 bullnose waterline tile will be installed to have a minimum 80% skimming action as per code. This will be done with a Nikon automatic leveler.
If pour over tile or beam tile is to be replaced, new numbers will be installed every 25 feet as per code.
We will acid wash complete surface area and neutralize surface with sodium bi-carb (baking soda).
Apply Bonding
Coat (bonding agent) to entire pool surface to ensure maximum bonding efficiency.
We
will re-tile steps with 2x6 slip-resistant bullnose tile,
installed on the riser with dark color (as per code).
Our quartz surface is hand-troweled, and as such there will be variations in the surface texture. This is industry standard and acceptable under all county health department codes.
The pool gutter will be prepared and quartzed in the same manner as the pool surface, as per code.
New 12x12 commercial frame and grates will be installed over any main drains and 2x4 frame and grates will be installed over any gutter drains. (All frame and grates are pre-formed plastic).
Our service technician will chemically start-up pool water following surface application and pool refill. After this initial start-up, pool chemistry is the responsibility of the pool owner.
The extent of delamination, or the deterioration of a surface, can rarely be accurately determined prior to pool emptying. If there is major delamination repair work to be conducted in order to properly apply the new surface, extra per-square-foot charges my be assessed onto the original bid.
