POOL CARE & MAINTENANCE BY POOL OWNER

These procedures should be closely followed to properly care for the new pool surface.

1. Brush pool daily with a nylon pool brush for 1 week or until material dust subsides.

2. Installing a pool cleaner which has only brush or rubber bottoms (Barracuda, Great White, Creepy Crawler, etc.) is fine, but this should not take the place of daily brushing.

3. DO NOT ALLOW ALKALINITY TO EXCEED 70PPM FOR THE FIRST 2 WEEKS. You should only lower the alkalinity if it exceeds 70ppm. However, the pool’s pH & alkalinity levels will continually rise while the new surface cures. During this time, the pool may require additional acid to keep the pH & alkalinity within parameters. Remember, adjusting the pH level down requires broadcasting of acid where as lowering the alkalinity requires pouring the acid using a cylinder effect in the deep end of the pool.

4. The pool’s chemistry should be checked at least twice a week during the first 2 weeks following resurfacing. The composition of the new surface may cause pool chemistry parameters to fluctuate; close monitoring is strongly advised.

5. After 2 weeks, adjust alkalinity and all pool parameters to meet warranty specifications.

6. For chlorine generator pools, do not add salt for a minimum of 30 days following the renovation. Liquid chlorine will be needed to replace the salt during this time..

PLEASE NOTE: 1. MAINTAINING YOUR POOL WITH JACKS’S MAGIC “THE BLUE STUFF”® WILL HELP YOU TO BATTLE MOST COMMON METAL & SCALE CONCERNS (USE JACK’S MAGIC “THE PURPLE STUFF”® FOR POOLS WITH CHLORINE GENERATORS). 2. POOLS WHICH ARE FILLED FROM WELL WATER SOURCES MAY TAKE LONGER TO STABLIZE.
3. EXCESSIVE USE OF TABLETS IN YOUR CHLORINATOR MAY RESULT IN STAINING OF YOUR NEWLY RENOVATED SURFACE. NO MORE THAN 2 TABLETS SHOULD BE PLACED IN YOUR CHLORINATOR AT ANY GIVEN TIME. IN ORDER TO AVOID POSSIBLE STAINING, WE RECOMMEND THE USE OF LIQUID CHLORINE AS OPPOSED TO EXTRA TABLETS.

STANDARD RECOMMENDED POOL CHEMISTRY PARAMETERS

Chlorine 1 – 3 ppm
pH 7.4 – 7.6
Cyanuric Acid (Stabilizer) LESS than 50 ppm
Total Alkalinity 80 - 100 ppm
Sequest 12 ppm
Calcium Hardness 200 – 400 ppm

ONCE YOUR RENOVATION IS COMPLETE, STANDARD MAINTENANCE OF THE POOL IS THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE POOL OWNER. MR MARCITE DOES NOT EMPLOY POOL SERVICE TECHNICIANS.
