Waterline Tiles

Waterline tiles are almost always 6" x 6" with very few exceptions. These tiles frame the fill line of your pool and are situated below any rows of cantilever tiles that occur. Generally, a pool is designed so that the water level is about halfway up the waterline tile with the bottom half hidden beneath the surface. For this reason, many waterline designs will be symmetric, so that when the top half is reflected in the water it mimics the bottom half of the tile. Like cantilever, waterline tile can also be "bull nose," "flush," or "flat." In addition, waterline tile can also be "solid" (each tile square made up of only one piece) or "mosaic" (each tile square is made up of several smaller tiles). The type of waterline that is right for your pool depends not only on the decking that meets your pool and whether or not you have coping, but also the shape of your pool. A pool that is free-form and has many curves may require a mosaic waterline that will conform to the bending perimeter.
